Denver Dill, (BM 2001) finished his masters
degree from The Julliard School of Music and has gone on to
work on a doctorate at The Eastman School of Music.
Phil Johnson (BM 2001) completed a masters
in trumpet performance at The University of North Texas and
now is completing a second masters in jazz studies and performing
as jazz soloist with the "Two-O'Clock" Band.
John Merz and Scott Reed have taken over
duties as Director and Assistant Director of Instrumental activities
for the Mason County Public Schools.
Dr. Terry Roberts was appointed Conductor/Director
of the Florence symphony Orchestra.
Matt Kurk (BM 2001, MAT 2003) won the brass division of
the National Federation of Music Clubs Kentucky state student
auditions. After receiving offers from several prestigious graduate
schools Matt enrolled at Boston University where he is now pursuing
a MM in Horn Performance and studying with renowned soloist
Eric Ruske.
John Fleming (BME 2002) is now teaching
music in the Frankfurt Independent school system.
James Young (MM 2003) has gone on to work
on a doctorate at Michigan State University.
Saundra Sininger (MM 2001) is now a member
of the USAF "Band of the West" stationed at San Antonio, TX
where she plays trombone in the concert and ceremonial bands.
Current horn students Kerry Evans, Michael
Pickrell, Courtney Spragens, Stephanie Stockburger, Kimberly
Wilkins, Adam Will, and Amber Ungaro attended the week-long
International Horn Society Symposium held at the Indiana University
this past June where they attended masterclasses and concerts
featuring some of the leading players in the world today.
David Stephenson (MM Choral Conducting,
2002) is now the Artistic Director of The Chesapeake Chorale,
Locust Hill, VA. and Choral Director; Middlesex High School,
Saluda, VA; St. and Clare Walker Middle School, Locust Hill,
VA.
Pavel Polanco-Safadit is currently working
towards his Doctorate of Musical Arts in Composition at the
University of Wisconsin, Madison where he studies composition
under Dr. Steve Dembski. Previously, Pavel earned his masters
degree in composition/theory at Eastern Kentucky University
in August 2003.
