Kristen Kean joined the faculty of Eastern Kentucky University in the Fall of 2003. She has completed performance degrees at Boston University, Southeastern Louisiana University and is currently completing her doctoral studies at Louisiana State.   Her primary teachers include Doriot Anthony Dwyer and Dr. Katherine Kemler.   As an orchestral musician, she has performed with the Boston Philharmonic, the Louisiana Philharmonic, the Acadiana and Baton Rouge Symphonies and was principal flute with the Orquesta Sinfonica de Monterrey (OSUANL). She is currently principal flute in the Owensboro Symphony.
