Rehearsals: Foster 100 M & W 12:20 -1:10 PM

Fridays: Oct. 8th & 15th ; Nov. 12th & 19th; Dec. 3rd & 10th

On Dec. 10th, Friday, in addition to the regular time of 12:20 – 1:10 PM, there is ALSO a dress rehearsal with Orchestra in Brock at 3 PM

Recording session: Friday, Nov. 19th in Brock, 6:30 – 8:00 PM Session is for purposes of recording the Thompson "Testament of Freedom" with the EKU Symphonic Band.

Performances:

Oct. 19th – (Tuesday) – warm-up call, 7 PM

One or two works for EKU Choral Concert - 8 PM Gifford

Nov. 20th (Saturday) - warm –up call, 12 PM

Testament of Freedom, w/ Symphonic Band - 1 PM Brock

Dec. 12th. (Sunday) - warm-up call, 2 PM

Messiah, w/ University Orchestra, 3 PM Brock

Rehearsal procedures:

• Always bring your music and a pencil to class.

• Please do not wear headgear of any kind during class.

• Turn off all electronic devices upon entering rehearsal or performance

Attendance Policy:

Roll is taken each rehearsal. Absences for music department or university course travel may be excused. (Provide a university-sanctioned letter from your instructor.)

A. Attendance is required at all rehearsals and performances.

B. Grades will be lowered by one letter grade for each unexcused absence.

C. Three tardies will result in a one letter-grade reduction.

D. Unexcused absence from a performance will result in automatic failure.

Procedure for a planned Excused Absence:

A. Contact me in person in advance.

B. Telephone & email notifications are acceptable only in an emergency situation.

C. In an emergency situation, written documentation by a physician will be required at the discretion of the instructor.

Grading Policy: The grade is based on regular attendance, punctuality, and a positive choral attitude. The positive choral attitude is defined in a separate document in each choral folder. Everyone in this class has the ability to receive the grade of A. (Final grades will not be released until your complete folder is returned at the end of the semester.)

Men’s Chorus Concert Dress:

Each singer will supply his own black coat & trousers, black shoes, white shirt, black bow tie.  (tux is acceptable, but not required).
