William Goodwin-Violin

William Goodwin received the Bachelor of Music from The Curtis Institute of Music and the Master of Music in Performance from Florida State University. His teachers have included Irwin Eisenberg, Yizhak Schotten, Joseph de Pasquale, Pamela Ryan, and Masao Kawasaki. Prior to his appointment at Eastern, Mr. Goodwin served as a member of the Lindsayan String Quartet and Principal Viola with the Bowling Green-Western Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed with the Savannah, Greenville(SC), Tallahassee, South Jersey, and Naples (FL) symphonies, the Lexington Philharmonic, and has participated in the Aspen Music Festival as a Fellowship student. He has performed at international music festivals in Europe, The United States and South America as an orchestral musician and as a member of the Lindsayan String Quartet, which can be heard on the CD, "Music for Clarinet, Strings and Piano," released in the summer of 1997 on the CRI label. Mr. Goodwin will teach violin, viola and string methods at Eastern.

Mark Chambers-Violoncello

Mark Chambers is Assistant Professor of Low Strings and Orchestra Director at Eastern Kentucky University. Originally from Toronto, Canada, Dr. Chambers received his undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto and Certificates in History and Theory from the Royal Conservatory. He also holds a Masters in Performance from Auburn University and the Doctor of Music in Performance degree and Early Music Certificate from The Florida State University. Dr. Chambers studied cello with David Miller, Vladimir Orloff, Lubomir Georgiev and Martha Gerschefski and conducting with Dr. Harold Kafer. He also studied baroque cello with Lawrence Dreyfus and Sergei Kokolov. As a member of Baroque Southeast, a period instrument group based in Tallahassee, Florida, he has performed in recital with Max von Egmond, Aldo Abreu and Jaap Schroeder.

Richard Crosby-Piano

Richard Crosby was born in Ashland, Ohio and raised in Largo, Florida. He holds the Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education, the Master of Music in Piano and Wind Conducting, and the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano from the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music. His principal piano teachers at CCM were John Meretta and Richard Morris, and his conducting training was with Glenn Richter, John Leman and Terry Milligan. In the spring of 1994, Dr. Crosby released his first compact disc recording entitled "An American Portrait." Initiated in 1975 into Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, the fraternity for men in music, Dr. Crosby has been the governor of Phi Mu Alpha Province 25 since 1988. He also served as "National President" from 1994-97.
