Rock climbing Podcast
I decided to make my podcast about my adventures in rock climbing.
I had a lot of fun making this particular project.  I wasn't very familar
with it at first but when I kept playing around with the program,
I thought my finished prduct was well worth the complications.  I had a lot of
pictures I took from my own photos and also from my friends that are
rock climbers as well.  I chose to put an Angels and Airwaves song  as
my background music.  I didn't really have to change anything significant
in the music since it fit so well with my subject!

30 second sound wipe
I chose to compose my 30 second sound wipe for a car commercial.
I imagined the music having a rock-edgy feel as if someone is off-roading
in a landrover.  I played in a few of the tracks and I also recorded my own voice into the commercial.  I managed to tweak my vocals so that I sounded more like a man than a woman so the commercial could appeal more to the male society!  I believe that my point came across well!

3 minute original compostion
At first, I had some trouble figuring out what the main theme would be for my original composition.
After some experimenting with the many sound clips that
garage band had to offer, my piece had a sort of nature theme to it.
I played in a lot of my own tracks especially the nature sounds and
some of the bass parts.  I imagined someone going for a walk in the woods and really
appreciating all the nature and beauty around.  My piece is in a
sort of a b a form.  There is a main theme, a bridge and then
at the very end, the main theme reappears ending the song.

Audacity
We spent a little bit of time on the audacity program.  We were required to create a round by recording ourselves singing a song, then we had to somehow figure out how to cut and paste to make ourselves sing the sound in a fugue.  I sang a children's song called "Kookabura."  Once we made the round, then we got to have a little bit of fun with the program and add effects to our voices.  I had fun doing that.  I made my voice sound either like a chipmunk or I used the pitch bend effect to where my round sounded really freaky!  Audacity was a pretty fun project!

Digital Performer

Digital Performer was by far the hardest project for me to catch on to.
At times, I wanted to break the computer. We did two projects on the program.
The first project we did was a small round.  I used the same round as I used for the Audacity program.  I simply played "Kookabura" in on the keyboard instead of singing it in.   The other project was that we were all given a piece of music and we had to enter the accompaniment part onto digital performer.  This part of the project took me the longest.
I had six pages of madness!   I was assignment a guitar piece that was inn the meter of 3/8.  I spent the most on this project than anything in the class.  When I finally finished it, I felt that I had really accomplished something great.   I'm glad its over with but I'm thankful that I now know how to navigate throughout digital performer.

Sibelius
I actually enjoyed Sibelius.  It was a little confusing at first, but the program is really user-friendly and I picked up on it quickly.  We had to complete two compositions.  One was a Duke Ellington piece and the other was  Mahler composition.  The project itself was a little time consuming because I was working on D..P. as well as Sibelius.  But, as I learned for electronic music, it's all about managing your time properly.

Finale
Finale did not seem as user friendly to me as Sibelius was at first.  I didn't enjoy how the program made things more difficult to add in notes.  Needless to say I had a lot of deleting to do!  Eventually the program grew on me and by the end of the Mahler piece that I had to enter in, I really got the hang of Finale.  I liked how the tools window had basically everything you needed right there to create the notes.  Also, I like using the Speedy Entry way of adding in notes.  By the time I completed my Finale project, I had almost memorized all of the shortcuts for the program!  Go me!

Html Evaluation Page
Lastly, we were asked to critique a series of websites on content, navicability, load speed, and graphics on the subject of our choice.  I chose to do this part of the project on the different oboe supply websites available online.  Click on the link above to see the results!
