For my 30 second voice over I had no problem talking over my previous recording. I just recorded my voice in the areas where there was no recording from the previous recording. I transformed my voice down to a deep soulful tone to add that extra something to it. It was fun recording it.

When I was contemplating my 3 minute composition, I had trouble deciding what instruments and beats to use. I would go through about 5 different beats and melodies, but could’t find the right mix that would sound great together and be in time. So after a few minutes to think about it, it dawned on me to use a simple “hip-hop” mix and add some scratches to it to make it sound like you were at a party or some club with your friends. Since the composition had to be in some type of form I decided to use the simple ternary form of ABA. For the B part, I used a subdued recording I found in Garageband and added some improv trumpet section to add a jazzy feel to the B section. For the second “A” I used the “hip-hop” themed again and the scratch section, but I added an effect to the scratch to make it sound darker.

For my podcast, I had trouble deciding what topic I wanted to use. I already knew that I was going “Scar Tissue” by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. After a few days at KMEA thinking, I realized that I should I do a podcast about something I know a lot about, but nobody else knows barely anything about. So I used drag racing as the topic of my podcast. Since all my drag racing pictures I took were on my old that computer that crashed over 2 months ago I had to find some “cooler” drag racing photos on the Internet and add them to my podcast. It didn’t take me long at all to find great drag racing pictures that I could easily use. The only hard part about my podcast was the difficulty of placing them onto the slideshow. I had to place it just right or the slideshow wouldn’t put it onto the slide. Other than that, the podcast was the easiest project, for me, to create.
