Born in Lexington, Kentucky I have been interested in music since I knew what music was. I briefly started my musical career on saxophone, but by the grace of God, switched to tuba my freshman year in high school and never looked back. After recieving several offers I accepted a music scholarship at Eastern Kentucky University, where I have majored in Tuba Performance with a minor in Political Science. I have performed in virtually all generes of tuba playing, holding principle positions in the EKU Symphony, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Marching Colonels, Dixieland Band, Jazz Band I and II, Brass Choir, University Singers, and I am also a founding member of the Crabbe Street Brass Quintet. I have performed all over Kentucky, and in January 2002 I performed with Fredrick Fennell and the Toyoko Kosai Wind Orchestra as part of the Mid-West Band and Orchestra Clinic. My teachers have included H. Brent Barton, Daniel Eaton, and Jim Willett. I have also studied bass with Dr. Mark Chambers. I am graduating in the Spring of 2004 and plan on pursuing graduate school the following year. Besides tuba, I collect vinyl records (those old things before CD's), golf, and am happily engaged to Jennifer Wilke, with a wedding date of September 4th, 2004. I am also working on a comedy CD with lifelong friend Darren Fielder (a.k.a. Bubby Walker Junior II) entitled "The Adventures of Bubby Walker Junior II and Banjo Samples"
