The outline above may be modified as necessary. As with any instrument, practicing in a consistent, focused manner is the key to success. Assignments will be given at every class period. Your ongoing progress will be updated at least once a week on the Blackboard site, or you may consult the instructor before or after class. Grades will be determined by the following:

Class Grade 30%
Quizzes (4 @ 10% each) 40%
Midterm and Final (15% each) 30%
Total 100%

Attendance will also be a factor in the determination of your grade. Excused absences require a written excuse (University clinic, doctor, or other authenticated source). An allowance of two (2) unexcused absences will be allowed during the semester. Each additional unexcused absence above two (3 or more) will result in the lowering of your final letter grade by a letter. If Class Piano is a requirement for your degree, you must receive a grade of C or better.
