Greetings to our Alumni! It's truly an exciting time to be at EKU! Things are going really well, and we're "busting at the seams" with energetic and talented students. If you haven't heard already, Associate Vice-President Marc
Whitt (EKU Band Alum - '82, '85) has renewed our Alumni
Band tradition, and we're planning to continue the fun at this Fall's
Homecoming events....more on that to come! Please come visit us in Richmond anytime, when you have the
opportunity - so much has changed of late, and we want to have the
opportunity to "show off" new developments - you are still an inportant
part of us! We have lots of plans to further develop our programs
- we would love to have you be a part of that. Check out our
schedule of performances - there's always SOMETHING going on in out
Department! Please take a moment of your time to respond to our call for Band Alumni, if you have not already. You can register on this website, or call us at the Band Office (859/622-3161). We have great plans of putting together a network of people that will not only support the EKU Bands, but will have opportunities to gather with former classmates and friends to relive their favorite memories of band trips and such. I’ve heard some of "the stories," and they bear repeating to a larger audience. Just like some of us, these stories seem to grow with age! For most, if not all of us, our college band experiences are
precious and personal. They continue to be a part of our lives
that we can recall and celebrate with those who share these common
memories. We at EKU want to perpetuate and build upon this shared
bond to provide similar musical and life experiences for our current
students, so that they too might share in the special traditions of a
special organization. Help us to help them continue the legacy you
helped to build in the Eastern Kentucky University Bands. Sincerely, Joe Allison |
